Boat capsizes on the Snake River, fishing guide missing

SWAN VALLEY – The Bonneville County Search and Rescue team has called off the search Wednesday night for a man missing from a capsized boat.

Just before 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, at the Spring Creek Boat landing near Swan Valley, three people were floating in a drift boat when it reportedly hit some willow branches and flipped over, spilling the three into the Snake River. One couple made it out, the third, a man in his mid-40′s has not been found.

According to the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office, the missing man is a fishing guide and is used to being on the water.

No information has been released on the identities of the people involved.

The search will resume Thursday morning at 7 a.m.
