South Fork of the SnakeSouth Fork of the Snake

We fish 5 sections of this great river in Idaho from Palisades dam to the confluence of the Henry’s Fork. Each stretch has its own unique personality. Browns dominate the lower sections, while cutthroat and rainbow are predominately found on the other sections. They all hold lunker trout. And they all produce those over 100 fish days during the season.

The world’s heaviest hatch of giant salmon flies comes off in late May.From then until late June, is the perfect time to catch monster rainbows and browns on size 4 dry flies.
