November 20th South Fork Fishing Update

Randy, Matt and Brian floated the Middle South Fork on Friday. Most people call this the canyon section. We put in at Conant. The air temperature was 22 degrees when we put in and ice was constantly forming in our guides. We float the Middle for two reasons. First it is starting to snow and soon it will be difficult to access this section and second in hopes of finding some real big fish. On the second point we were mostly disappointed. The fish were by in large smaller than the ones we have been catching on the Lower sections. But at the end we did find two big browns. One weighed in at 6.5 lbs and the other 5.5. It was a nice day but we won’t be floating this section again until spring.
